According to Wikipedia a staycation is a period of time in which an individual or family stays and relaxes at home, possibly taking day trips to area attractions. Staycations achieved popularity in the US during the financial crisis of 2007–2010.

Yes, this is a real estate blog, but in many instances real estate is much more personal and refers to your home. I am a homebody and love just hanging out. Last week my mom visited from Washington State and we had a great time doing not too much of anything.   We took in two movies at Glendale’s Americana, had a great lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant, Chi Dynasty, and had pedicures with my oldest daughter who had not yet returned to college.  

Last year when I was in Positano I bought a puzzle as a souvenir.  We tried our best to complete it, but it would have taken us until Christmas.  We gave up on that and played an Italian card game from my childhood, Scopa   My mom and I experimented with a couple of new recipes and just enjoyed our time together.
