There are many things I enjoy about living in La Canada: both my daughters attended our excellent public schools, other than the traffic back up on Foothill before and after school, there is relatively little traffic in La Canada and the community is a very safe place to live.

Grand thefts dropped more than 11% with 237 in 2010 versus 266 in 2009.

Burglaries dropped to 94 in 2010 versus 102 in 2009. 62 were of homes or attached garages, while the others were of businesses or structures not attached to homes.

Robberies fell 22.22% from 9 in 2009 to 7 in 2010

Aggravated assaults climbed a bit from 10 in 2009 to 12 in 2010.

Larceny thefts accounted for 207 incidents in 2010, down from 251 in 2009.

Stolen vehicle reports: dropped from 17 in 2009 to 13 in 2010.

Arson was about half as prevalent in 2010. 9 incidents a year ago fell to 4 in 2010.

Murders  none in 2010.
