La Canada had less of a dramatic spike in short sales and foreclosures than its La Crescenta neighbor.  In February, La Canada foreclosures and short sales made up 43 of the real estate market.  But in January that total was just 27%.  Likely reasons lenders halt evictions and foreclosures during the holidays and many lenders put foreclosures on hold last fall.
