2011 Pasadena Showcase House is in La Canada Flintridge
The 2011 Showcase home is a 1927 English Revival sited in La Canada Flintridge. The JB Green house has been in the same family for over 60 years. Tax records indicate the 6 bedroom, five bath residence encompasses 7,127 sq ft on 3 acres.
Architect: Famed architect, Paul Williams who has designed numerous Los Angeles homes. Williams was a talented African-American architect working predominantly for wealthy white clients during an era of widespread discrimination. Williams’ reminisced “In the moment that they met me and discovered they were dealing with a Negro, I could see many of them freeze," he wrote in American Magazine. "My success during those first few years was founded largely upon my willingness — anxiety would be a better word — to accept commissions which were rejected as too small by other, more favored, architects."
