Heat your bathroom floor with radiant heat

The early mornings have been so cold that I have been wearing gloves and a scarf when I walk the dogs each morning.

Imagine waking in the morning and walking on a heated bathroom floor … Sounds lovely doesn’t it?

Radiant heating systems involve supplying heat directly to the floor or to panels in the wall or ceiling of a house. The systems depend largely on radiant heat transfer: the delivery of heat directly from the hot surface to the people and objects in the room via the radiation of heat, which is also called infrared radiation. Radiant heating is the effect you feel when you can feel the warmth of a hot stovetop element from across the room. When radiant heating is located in the floor, it is often called radiant floor heating or simply floor heating.

I spoke to La Crescenta electrician Jim Barton who told me that depending on the size of the bathroom the cost is approximately $1500.00 (could be more, could be less).  If George anyone is curious about a Valentine’s gift … I think a heated bathroom floor would be wonderful.

I think this radiant floor heating will be affective in keeping you warm especially nowadays. It won't be use in summer though. But anyway, can be use in winter again. I just hope there's no side effect.

It is a unique Valentine's gift. If my husband will have our bathroom floors fitted with radiant heating, I'll be the happiest wife in the world.

Having a heated bathroom floor would be a great luxury to have in my home. Although there is something I like about a cold floor first thing in the morning. It helps me wake up faster.

It's not just great for bathrooms, I walked into a demo home that had it in the kitchen (which was tiled) and it was great. $1500 installed would be about right, the cost price I've seen for about 20 square meters here in Australia is AU$800 (so then there would be some margin and installation on top of that).
