One of my favorite Foothill’s neighborhoods is Whiting Woods, which is a completely residential neighborhood comprised of fewer than 200 single family homes.  Many fine examples of mid-century architecture are found tucked away in this peaceful neighborhood.



John Lautner’s Schaffer Residence is sited in Whiting Woods.  This home has been impeccably restored and was featured in the movie, A Single Man.  The home is 2 bedrooms, 2 baths in 1700 sq ft, on an 11,000+ tree studded lot.



Originally listed in February 2008 for $1,958,000. Currently asking $1,495,000.  Although, it is a very impressive home, the Lautner pedigree apparently doesn’t increase the value by 35%.  Perhaps 20%? How much value do you think the Lautner name adds?
