Los Angeles Realtor tries accupuncture
For over a year I have been diligently going to Pilates several times a week. The workout is tough; it’s a cardio Pilate’s class on a reformer. I do my best to keep up but last week tried too hard, and the result was excruciating back pain. I tried ice, I tried a heating pad, and I went to the chiropractor three times. All provided some temporary relief but just not enough.
Earlier this week my sister-in-law, Monica took me to her acupuncturist. I had never been and didn’t really know what to expect. Personally, I prefer not to dwell on what to expect, so I really didn’t want the explanation.
On Wednesday, I met with the accupuncturist who determined that I have a muscle spasm; I was ushered into an area of small cubicles with privacy curtains. I put on a gown and the doctor put needles in my feet, my legs and my stomach – it did not hurt.

I am not good at relaxing; the strange aspect is lying there and hearing the curtains opening all around you. I just keep waiting for someone to return and get on with it. After fifteen minutes, I rolled over on my stomach and he put me under a red light. Then another 15 minutes, he placed needles in my spine, legs and neck.
After another 20 minutes or so, he took the needles out, and put a suction cup (cupping) on my back, then removed the cup and shot me with what felt like a needle gun (this hurt) then put the suction cup back on. Then I was given a back massage. I was there for two hours, and returned on Thursday; I am feeling 95% better. Unfortunately this acupuncturist genius is located in Buena Park. If interested his name is Yong S. Kim and you can reach him at 714 522-8818.
