Real Estate Sales Transactions, La Canada, September 2010

This year the average price per square foot for La Canada’s home sales has hovered in the $400 range; $402-$492. Average price in September was $457, so we are at the midpoint of this year’s hover.

The good:
The number of La Canada homes sold  in September increased from August.
Days on market, the number of days from list to closing decreased to the shortest time period for the year.  Homes sold faster.
The percentage of selling price to list price increased, La Canada homes are selling  (on average) nearly 98% of asking price.

The bad:
Average selling price decreased,

The ugly:
24% of (nearly one out of four) La Canada home sales were the result of foreclosure or short sale.
