Attention to Real Estate Details
My clients recently decided that now was an excellent time for them to purchase an investment property, one their parents could live in. They purchased a charming Spanish home in La Crescenta. Although the home had good bones, it was a fixer upper. The kitchen had not been updated much since the 20’s.
The kitchen had an arched breakfast nook. The homeowner fell in love with the charm of that arched nook. But the kitchen was small and had little counter space. Although, the home also had an arched formal dining room, the owner really wanted to keep the second arch as well. But in keeping the kitchen arch, the refrigerator would need to be in the breakfast nook. I just didn’t see how it would be aesthetically pleasing.
So, how did interior decorator (and my home stager), Charis save the kitchen arch? It was brilliant; she extended the cabinetry and the refrigerator, so that it was flush with the arch. Arch is intact, breakfast room still charming and they gained more counter space. I can’t wait to see it when it’s complete.

Do you notice that the cabinet had the arch added to the bottom to mirror the other arch? Oh, and more good news, their contractor is finishing in on schedule. If you’re interested, his name is Rich Mortensen, and he may be contacted at (626) 327-6841.
