Harb’s Real Estate Wrap Up

I hope your Memorial weekend was as lovely as mine!  On Saturday, we had friends and family over for a barbecue. On Sunday, I learned how to cook chicken Savoy.  La Canada has a quaint parade each Memorial Day and for years our family has attended.  I think every child in La Canada is in the parade; while in girl scouts we typically rode on the fire truck.  This year I took a Pilates class and skipped it.  Monday evening we were invited to a friends for an authentic Texas style barbecue.

And a big thank you and a prayer for all present and past who have fought to keep us free and safe.

As far as real estate:

*I have received a couple of low offers on Saticoy and we have been countering* back and forth:  *COUNTER OFFER: The seller accepts portions of the offer but “counters” certain terms. Because the Saticoy home is a fixer upper, we have decided to sell as is.  The seller is requesting that the buyer assume the expense and responsibility of retrofitting (low flow toilets, shower heads, etc) and termite work.  As the home was just listed, the seller is still somewhat “firm” on price.

*The buyer is on round two of inspections on Oakwood, but last week I received a back up offer.

* I just listed a 3 bedroom 1920’s Tudor home in Northwest Glendale for $649,000 – it has an 8 car garage!

*Unfortunately Lisa’s buyer was overbid on their offer and their search continues.

I just read the National Association of Realtor’s online Magazine article pertaining to front porches
“This renewed interest in having a front porch dovetails with a want for compactly designed and pedestrian-friendly communities, the kind of blocks where you chat with neighbors.  A row of front porches encourages those casual conversations.”

I have a small front porch but do have a back yard patio. Personally, I would rather relax in the privacy of my backyard.  What about you?
