Due to the decline in California property values, I have been checking to be certain that my clients who purchased property after 2006 have had their property taxes reduced accordingly.  I am very impressed with the Los Angles County Tax Assessor’s website.  It is surprisingly helpful, click here:  to determine if your property will be automatically reviewed in 2010 for a decline in value 
 
If you are home is not scheduled for an automatic reduction, the process is somewhat changed. 

1. The new filing period will be from June 1 through November 30, 2010 .
2. The property owner or authorized agent will be able to submit a request for a decline-in-value review online.
If you are not eligible for the auto review and require assistance obtaining comps to complete your application, contact your real estate agent, who should be happy to assist you.
