23% of March La Canada Home Sales were distress sales

Good news for La Canada real estate:

*Price per square foot has increased each month of 2010

*The number of days on market is less than ½ of January’s and February’s numbers

The only negative is that the percentage of selling price to list price has decreased slightly throughout this year

Comparing La Canada’s housing statistics to 2009 is not quite as encouraging:

*Although the number of homes sold in March 2009, was slightly less than 2010, price per square foot was nearly $40 more last March.

*The average selling price is down nearly $600,000 from last March proving that high end La Canada housing continues to be slow to sell.

*The average selling price to list price is also lower, actually lower than it has been in the last 15 months.

The silver lining is the number of days on the market is less than ½ of last March’s figure.
