The Craftsman style home often features built-in cabinets and very defined rooms....  flowing floorplans are not found at these homes.  …..According to architect and furniture designer Gustav Stickley, a Craftsman home is  "a house reduced to it's simplest form... its low, broad proportions and absolute lack of ornamentation gives it a character so natural and unaffected that it seems to... blend with any landscape." 

Some communities such as Pasadena have a constant supply of Craftsman homes, but  this popular style is more difficult to find in the neighboring communities of La Crescenta, Glendale, Eagle Rock, La Canada, Burbank and Montrose.
