La Canada by the Numbers, High End Housing Takes a Hit
According to the 2000 census La Canada had 6,989 housing units.
The 2000 census tallied 7,108 housing units in La Crescenta.
Similar housing supply, yet La Crescenta home sales are markedly stronger than La Canada’s. Price per square foot is down for the year in La Canada, up in La Crescenta. At the beginning of the year La Canada's/La Crescenta's average price per square foot was nearly $200 apart, as of November just over $100 apart.
At least the selling price to list price ratio in La Canada remains strong at over 95%.
