If you replaced insulation, windows/doors, or purchased appliances this year you may be eligible for tax credits or rebates. Due to the station fire, my insurance carrier paid to have my attic insulation replaced  and I am eligible for a rebate.  In addition, purchase of washing machines, water heaters, furnaces and dishwashers may also qualify for rebates.

To further complicate, there are also tax credits.  Los Angeles, California and local municipalities also have incentives, credits and rebates for solar and a variety of energy saving appliance purchases.
