A morning at the Getty
In July George and I were in Rome and visited the Borghese Museum, Obviously our Getty is not the Borghese but it houses a very impressive collection and is in our own backyard! My mom is in town for Thanksgiving and we managed to take in a visit to the Getty Museum and Villa.
Getty was an antiquities collector, (don’t expect renaissance paintings). His vision was to house his collection in a replica of a Roman Country House. If you have visitors arriving for the holidays, or just an afternoon off, this is a lovely outing.

Parking is $15.00 but museum entry is free, wouldn’t you think with the condition of our state’s economy someone might look into charging an entrance fee? We left my home a few minutes after 9 AM, had a lovely lunch in Malibu after and I was back to work by 3:00 PM.
