A wedding at the Beverly Hills Hotel
George and I just attended a beautiful wedding at the Beverly Hills Hotel. As soon as I received the invitation I made a reservation to spend the night. It was a mini-vacation and we were able to drink champagne and not worry about a long drive home.
The morning after the wedding, I woke early and left George sleeping while I slipped away to their business center to check email. Most luxury hotels have a small business center with a fax machine, several computers and printers. In addition most offer complimentary beverages (water or coffee). Nothing complimentary at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and while I can afford the $6.00 I spent for the coffee, I felt it was a poor reflection on the caliber of the hotel. The Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton and most luxury hotels offer complimentary coffee in their lobby.
The Beverly Hills Hotel is advertised as a five star luxury hotel but their business center is lacking. Fax machines are in your hotel room thus their business center consists of just two individual rooms, each with a computer. The room is small and somewhat stuffy. After the business center, I checked out the gym; there were complimentary water bottles. I walked the treadmill while watching the Godfather. I just love the treadmills with the personal television.
Then a fabulous breakfast with George in the Polo lounge and then back home and back to work - all within 24 hours.
