The Viking Showroom Lunch
What do three Realtors©, one interior decorator and one potential home buyer have in common? We joined forces for the Viking showroom lunch and loved the experience. The lunch was delicious, the presentation a bit lengthy but very informative and the showroom is beautifully laid out. I especially enjoyed the outdoor barbecues and accessories.

I have been anxious to view their steamer convection oven. It seems that if I only owned one, we would eat steamed vegetables with every meal. Did you know Viking sells a $300 toaster? I don’t know why we have toaster problems but if the Viking toaster weren’t so heavy I might have bought it for George as a birthday gift. On the weekends, I usually make breakfast and his job is to hold down the knob of the toaster - he keeps threatening to toss it. I think he would appreciate a new toaster.
They also sell garbage disposals – we have gone through three cheaper disposals since we moved in, fourteen years ago. Their disposals range in price from $349 - $450 and depending on the model has a 7-10 year warranty. Supposedly it can even grind rocks. Unfortunately I just replaced my garbage disposal otherwise I would have bought the Viking, by the time I pay for installing a new one every five years, I think the Viking would be a bargain.
Interior Decorator, Charis Mansur and I were discussing that homes of a certain caliber command name appliances. When thinking resale, it's wise not to over or under-improve. For the luxury home, it seems the choices are Viking, Sub-Zero or Wolf. I don't have enough information to make a comparison or a recommendation.
