Los Angeles Home Sellers and Buyers, Wash your hands
Good hygiene appears to be a deterrent of the swine flu. My husband George sells industrial sewing machines in the Los Angeles garment district. He and his employees are in contact with people daily and they have customers arriving from Mexico to buy sewing machines. His employees are now washing their hands when they arrive at work (some take the bus) and the delivery man is washing his hands each time he returns to the warehouse.
As a Los Angeles real estate agent, I preview and show a lot of homes. Some are clean and others filthy – absolutely filthy. After looking at homes, I always wash my hands. In fact Natalie and I each keep hand sanitizer in the car.

Due to the current Swine flu outbreak it is more important than ever, wash your hands – it won’t hurt you. If you have your home on the market, buy some Lysol sheets and wipe down the doorknobs and light switches each night.

This is a buyer's market. Why shouldn't a house shopper just refuse to even look at filthy houses?
If I was selling, I'd be even more vigilant about keeping my home looking (and smelling) really, REALLY clean.

Home sellers hoping to maximize their bottom line, do work diligently keeping their home in show condition.
However, a filthy home will generally not command the best price/attention and could likely be a better value for the buyer.
