One of my favorite local blogs is Tropico Station; blogger Scott just posted about the proposed Farmers Market at the Americana.  Montrose vendors believe that if the Americana hosts their Farmer's Market on the same day (Sunday), this will negatively impact Montrose's business.

I am reluctant to pay for parking to grocery shop.  And, I wouldn’t want to park for free at the Galleria and then carry bags of produce to either parking structure.  Personally, I prefer the nearer (to me) Montrose Farmer’s Market; parking is easy and free.
I would think the bigger objection should be made by the Americana’s high end retailers.  It doesn’t seem likely that produce vendors will be an attraction for those with deep pockets.  I can’t picture a Farmer’s Market on Rodeo can you?
