The happiest bedroom on earth?

When my daughters were young, I loved taking them to Disneyland. It was always clean, and my girls consistently had a wonderful time.  As they grew, we started shopping at the Disney store. I would also take them to Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre for the new release of Disney shows.  After the show, Disney wisely exited the theater goers into merchandise rooms (shopping areas); it was nearly impossible to escape without an additional purchase of a plush toy or princess wand.

I was delighted when my daughters outgrew Disney. I felt taken advantage of, that once they had me and my children in their clutches, they wanted to suck out every last penny. After paying exorbitant prices to enter Disneyland and spend most of the day standing in line, I felt ripped off by each purchase, both food and merchandise.   The disappointing quality of the merchandise at the Disney Store  (much of the clothes were polyester and overpriced) and the overselling after the El Capitan shows was further evidence (to me).  I was glad to be done with them.

I just read on L.A. Land’s blog that KB Homes will be offering Disney themed rooms in their new homes. Buyers have the choice of Hannah Montana, "Cars," Princess and Winnie the Pooh-themed rooms.   I have to hand it Disney, they are superb marketers.

Interesting news about KB homes...I wonder how well those will sell. I bet kids will love them. I always see such neat theme rooms like that on Extreme HomeMakeOver!

    Thanks for the info!
