After the escrow closes, do you miss your Realtor?

During the final days proceeding closing, whether I am representing a home buyer or seller we are in daily contact (sometimes more) regarding the last minute closing details.  In a typical escrow transaction, the home buyer is obtaining a loan.

Prior to closing, the lender delivers the loan documents (the contract to pay the bank back) to escrow. The loan documents must be reviewed by the escrow officer, then signed by the buyer, then returned to the lender. Then the lender reviews the same documents.  Then escrow sets the file up for funding (writing the check). The next business day following funding is the day of closing (deed is recorded).  Depending on the capability of the lender and the escrow officer this process can take a week or more.

In the meantime, movers are typically scheduled, utilities connected; the week or two before closing is often a flurry of activity.  Then poof, we close and the phone calls stop. It’s really strange after being in such constant contact with someone to have it abruptly end.  Instead of going “cold turkey”, I often call and ask if they miss me

    ps: we miss you!
