Book Storage Solutions

I love to read! Some of my favorite authors are David Baldacci, John Grisham, and Nelson De Mille.  I also enjoy historical fiction and recently completed The Boleyn Inheritance. But what to do with the books after I have read them?  I seldom reread a book, just move on to the next one.

I have a small bookshelf in our den, but it couldn’t hold one years supply of books.  There I keep my favorites, books given to me, my childhood favorites, a few reference volumes and treasures from past family member’s libraries.  I know people that can’t part with their books but they can take up quite a bit of room. And if your home is on the market, cluttered bookshelf after cluttered bookshelf will not be the ideal way to showcase your home.

Typically I will pass my books on; sometimes the story was so riveting that I ask for the book to be returned, because I have several friends who will be interested.   Few of us have the room to display them. But I seldom save a book.  What do you do once you have read a great novel?
