Five years and how many thousands of dollars later?

I sold this Arroyo View Estates (Highland Park) home in December of 2003.  We listed it for $449,000 and it quickly sold in multiple offers (over asking price) at $470,000. It was relisted in October of 2008 for $575,000 and sold (once again over asking price) at $582,000.

According to the MLS photos and remarks, it appears that the 2003 buyer remodeled the kitchen, and master bath. “update with pristine slate floors, perfectly remodeled kitchen with custom cabinets and sile stone counter tops, perfectly restored wood paneling and crown moldings”……

I am not sure which is better the before or after. I would be curious to know what your thoughts are.

Well styles certainly change over the years.  This mid century home after the redo was simpler (less fussy) which coincides with the mid century architecture. I particularly favor the wood work in the entry (the after).
