There is no bee shortage at my home
We have a swarm of bees hovering over our swimming pool. I wonder how many bees equal a swarm, but there are at least twenty. I read that there is a bee crisis and if anyone wants my bees they are welcome to them. Glendale's Virgil’s Hardware informed me that bee traps are illegal due to the (bee) shortage. I purchased the hanging yellow traps, but only caught one bee (the traps are for wasps).
I contacted an exterminator, but he said that as there is no hive on my property there is nothing that he can do. I suppose I will need to find which neighbor has the hive.... Or if anyone knows where I can find a bee trap that works - any advice?

Phyllis: You might try calling an apiarist (bee keeper). If the bees are not Africanized (agressive) they may be interested in collecting them for their hives. If you are still having a bee problem, let me know and I will find the phone number of the bee keeper we used in the past.

The bees are not aggressive, I would appreciate the phone number, you can post it here, call me @ (818) 790-7325 or email me @ hyllis@RealtorHarb.com" border="0" tongue.png? emoticons los-angeles-real-estate-blog.com http: %3EPhyllis@RealtorHarb.com?>Phyllis@RealtorHarb.com
And thank you - no one wants to get in the pool - even in this heat; we have three dogs (which I don't want stung either) - the bees have to go.
