Home buyers continue to look for the perfect fit!

Continuing to show homes and noticing that many are vacant.  Natalie showed homes yesterday in the $1,500,000 - $2,000,000 range and four of the six were vacant.  Fortunately there are plenty of home buyers.  They are cautious, and uncertain if prices will continue to drop, but I don’t think many of them believe that prices will drastically continue on this downward trend. Interest rates are low and the home buyers calling me want to buy.

I am continuing to show and each showing prompts more issues.  The problem with purchasing  a “flip” is that you are paying for someone else’s decisions and taste.  The other issue is that generally a flip’s quality is less than the quality when one has remodeled for their own benefit and pleasure.  Often the "flipper" has taken short cuts to save money.

Showing more homes and the questions keep coming.  This one on the different varieties of wood floors: genuine hardwood, bamboo (environmentally friendly) engineered and laminated (Pergo). My client knows that she doesn’t care for laminated, bamboo is a possibility and of course the “real deal” hardwood.

What we aren’t quite certain of is the engineered; it wouldn’t be her first choice, but “can she live with it”?  When I first saw it, I assumed it was laminated, because it doesn’t have the “look” of real wood, but does not appear as “manufactured” as laminated flooring. The look is in the middle of hardwood and laminated and so is the price.
