Los Angeles Flower Mart

I had a hair cut this morning, by La Canada’s best stylist, Ernesto and was admiring the salon’s floral arrangements.  As a business woman, I couldn’t help but notice the quantity and quality of their floral arraignments and was surmising that flowers are a large business expense.

Decided to make a quick Flower Mart run; hadn’t been in awhile and I forgot that it is better to park on Maple and not Wall, but I found a space on Wall Street and walked in the back door by mistake… which meant that I didn’t pay the entry fee.  Anyway, I also forgot to “rent” the cart on the 2nd floor…. so I was carrying a lot - I bought six orchids - $7.50 each and dropped one off to Ernesto… maybe he can save some money on floral arrangements.  Bought some herbs, tulips, pots… etc.

To and from from La Canada – driving & shopping – less than an hour and 15 minutes - and no you do not need to go early in the morning, you do want to arrive around 10:30 – 11:00 because they start to pack up soon after that.

I noticed fewer holiday shoppers in Beverly Hills than in years past. I think the poor economy has finally “trickled up”.Saturday, a friend and I took a trip to the Los Angeles Flower Mart. Interestingly their poinsettias are always more than the prices at the market, or Costco. The flower mart is always a sensory overload, and a fun way to spend the morning. ...
