When is the right time to contact a Realtor?
Last week, a homeowner contacted me because she was going to put her home on the market this April. She was thinking that perhaps she had contacted me too early. Absolutely not!
She had already met with the painter and has an appointment to have both interior and exterior painted, but she was able to meet with my home stager, Charis, who is also an Interior Decorator and Charis was able to help her with selecting paint colors. Prior to the painting, we have time for the termite company to conduct their inspection. I hate to watch a termite inspector poke around wood that has been freshly painted. In addition, if there is dry rot it may be easier to have it repaired prior to painting.
The home stager also worked with my client with furniture placement and decluttering. She now has a “to-do” list and a clear plan to reach her target date of April.... The way I see it is that you are paying a Realtor for a specific job - getting your home sold and closed, why wouldn't you get an extra two months work out of us for the same (commission) price?
