Affordable, good fresh food found in Glendale

I remember as a young girl going to the "Italian store", not certain what Grandma was purchasing at the time. I continue to shop there but the actual name is Mario's Italian Deli, and more people are buying prepared food and sandwiches than "grocery shopping".

But if you are not buying food, you are missing out on:

Large 3-5 lb bags of pasta, Frozen gnocchi, that yummy cheese that Glendale's Far Niente serves, delicious fresh bread and rolls, salami, mortadella, prosciutto...., my personal favorite - buratta cheese & Italian bakery style cookies.

If you do go to Mario's, phone ahead to order your sandwiches, there is a pick up window, or shop well before lunch time. It can get packed, my favorite sandwich is the honey maple turkey - I don't know how they make a turkey sandwich taste so good!
