John Lautner Home in Glendale’s Whiting Woods

How exciting! This  John Lautner just popped into the MLS.  Located in Glendale’s coveted Whiting Woods neighborhood, which boasts (Glendale’s) La Crescenta schools

MLS details indicate that the (Schaffer) residence has been meticulously restored.

Stats:
$1,985,000
2 & 2
1698 sq ft
Lot: 11,229

Interestingly, there is another Lautner residence for sale in the Foothills, this one, in La Canada, Flintridge and located in the Canyon(Chevy Chase) .

MLS details also indicate that this home has been restored.

Stats:
$2,400,000
3 & 2
1801 sq ft
Lot: 39,680 with pool

Interesting comparison considering that La Canada real estate is pricier than neighbors Glendale and La Crescenta. I can't wait to see the newest Lautner listing. I have to call my architectural buff clients now!

Even better for them, the house is not for sale and they are enjoying it. ...

Originally offered at $1,958,000, Lautner's Schaffer Residence has been reduced to $1,573,000. Listing Agent, Crosby Doe notes: “The Schaffer Residence, 1949, by internationally recognized architect John Lautner, has been meticulously restored, and is now presented in pristine condition. Here is one of Lautner's rare early masterworks hidden in an oak grove at the foot of the Verdugo Mountains. A world apart, and yet just 15 minutes to downtown L.A., and even closer to the Burbank Studios.”So, why are both Foothill Lautners slow to sell? In my opinion, both are amazing, but in this price range home ...
