Los Angeles and Oscar Fever

The Oscars! Each February, Oscar fever takes over Los Angeles.   The Academy Awards are scheduled for Sunday, February 24, 2008.

The only "nominated" movie I have seen was Michael Clayton; George Clooney performed well, but the movie was very depressing.  Personally, I prefer "feel good" movies, I "think" often enough and don't want to go to the movies to be "enlightened" which usually means depressed. My opinion of a good movie is one where I feel better leaving than when I arrived. I don't like sad movies at all, and I am known to cry in movies.

History:
When the first Academy Awards were handed out on May 16, 1929, movies had just begun to talk.

Download the Oscar Ballet and invite some friends over to watch the awards. This is a great opportunity to easily entertain at your place - maybe a chance to "pay back" a friend's dinner invitation. Could be a fun and easy party.
