Fresh and Easy comes to Los Angeles

Glassell Park, on Eagle Rock Blvd is the nearest store to my home.  So what’s the fuss?  I am an avid Trader Joes Shopper (Whole Foods is too expensive) and was anxious to check out this new grocery store.

I stopped by today: The meat & poultry look great & the prices seem a bit less than TJoes.  Many of the meats were seasoned and ready to cook, there were packs of chicken breasts individually vacuumed sealed in bags of eight.  The produce looks fresh.  I did however have a different expectation of Fresh and Easy; I thought the market would have a similar prepared foods section such as Whole Foods; it doesn’t.   There is bakery section with “fresh” breads and goodies (such as ginger bread cake, cup cakes, etc.)

The most interesting aspect of the store is that you scan your own groceries – they must have more than the honor system going on…  But seems fast and efficient.
