How safe is a lockbox?

When I first started selling real estate in 1989, we were using the combo (combination) lockbox, which is similar to a gym locker.  Although, they didn’t seem secure there were surprisingly few problems.

After a few years a new lockbox came on the market. It required a special key and as additional security each Realtor had to spin the numerical dial to their code – even if you found the key, you needed the Realtor’s code to open this lockbox.

About eight years ago the lockbox again evolved and we currently have an electronic lockbox which requires a “pad” that needs to be updated daily in a specified cradle.  Now a Realtor simply points their pad (similar to a remote control) towards the lockbox and enters their security number. If you were to find the pad, you would still need the security number and the pad expires daily if not recharged in the cradle.

This lockbox can be programmed to allow access during specified hours and the best aspect is that it records the date and time of each agent’s entry, which I can read on the Internet.  Typically each morning, I start the day by viewing the lockbox readings, which also typically note the showing agent’s email address.  In just a few minutes each morning I can request showing feedback for myself and the seller.

I like your style, the fact that your site is a little bit different makes it so interesting, I get fed up of seeing same-old-same-old all of the time. I've just stumbled this page for you
