A week in the life of your realtor
Started the week out still waiting for the written findings regarding my client's home protection policy's determination on the leaking dishwasher. The client finally received a declination of insurance and now I will need to go back to the seller to request that the seller repair the dishwasher (apparently a preexisting condition). ROLL OVER TO NEXT WEEK: once the letter is received I need to forward to the seller's agent and hash it out with him.
Received 3 offers on one condo, only 1 client qualified and after speaking with her attorney regarding a pending law suit, she can't move forward. Possibly two other agents will be writing offers. A lot of work for nothing, but at least we didn't enter into escrow with a buyer that can no longer qualify.
Showed property on Saturday to clients that were referred to me by another client, wrote an offer and after two counter offers put that in escrow. The property inspection is Saturday. After the inspection, I am showing one Orange Grove townhome (a fixer) but very large rooms and two spacious patios, one of which is off the master bedroom.

Saturday night (I do have a life!) I am looking forward to going to a party in W. Hollywood - my girlfriend is here from Rome (been here two weeks and I have only seen her once); husband George is in yet another golf tournament, so I am hoping to "hitch a ride" from one of my daughters; George will meet me there and we can return home in one car (sounds like a plan).
Sunday - showing property to another client.
Sunday - showing property to another client.
Listed another townhome in Pasadena, the seller has moved into assisted living and her son and daughter-in-law have been busy all week "cleaning and purging" and other minor recommendations from the home stager We have hired someone to clean the home. The cleaning is scheduled for today/tomorrow and the photographer will take the pictures on Sunday. We should be in the multiple listings by Tuesday (need photos first!) Will have broker's open house on Thursday.
Waiting to hear when the loan documents will be ready on my Commercial Property - we are supposed to close September 4, but that date needs to be adjusted due to the "holiday" on 9/3 and trying to ascertain if the closing will be sooner or later than 9/4.
Also trying to finish off the inspection on a home but there is a retaining wall issue. After examining permits for the subject property and the neighbor it is nearly impossible to determine who owns the wall. The city is of no help; buyer will be retuning to the home on Saturday to determine the cost of repair of the wall IF after close of escrow it is determined that the wall is part of the subject property.
Monday - I have agreed to be a member of the Board of Directors for the YWCA - it is an excellent organization and I am reluctantly happy to assist. Our first board meeting is Monday @ 5:30
Tuesday have office meeting, Thursday have lunch appointment with client and the broker's open for the Pasadena towhnome. The rest of the week is "open" for now.

Hi Phyl,
Very interesting site, I especially enjoyed the day of an "average" realtor.
I hope folks skroll down that far.
So you're on the board of the YMCA., how's you get roped into that?
Love,
Mom xxoo

I too hope people scroll down and read the blog; I hope some read it on a weekly basis.
The Y - well a woman I much admire asked me to.... AND with the girls driving I thought I may have the time to assist in a cause that I feel is very worthwhile. The Y has a shelter for women & their children that have been abused... they try to get these women back on their feet.
